Mineral AI ("we", "us") is an independent app that helps you track calories, macronutrients, and the iron and other minerals in your food. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. If you have questions, you can email us.
When you create an account we collect your email address, and (if you use Sign in with Apple or Google) your name if you choose to share it. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
This is the core of the app and includes: the foods you log and their calories, macronutrients and micronutrients; estimated iron and mineral intake and absorption; your body weight and weight history; goal weight and rate of gain; water and sleep entries; and app-generated estimates such as a food "health score" and an "acne risk" estimate. This is treated as sensitive health data (see Section 9).
When you photograph a meal or use voice logging, the image or transcribed text is sent to our AI providers to estimate the food and its nutrition (see Section 4). We do not use these photos for any purpose other than delivering that estimate to you.
If you connect Apple Health, Mineral AI reads steps, active energy, and body weight, and (with your permission) writes body weight and nutrition back to Health. Apple Health data is used only to provide the features you request; it is never used for advertising and is not sold or disclosed to third parties except as needed to deliver a feature you asked for.
Basic technical information needed to run the app and keep your account secure. Mineral AI does not include third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
To estimate the nutrition of a food photo, voice entry, or barcode item, and to power the in-app coach, we send the relevant content (for example, a meal photo and your current day's nutrition context) to our third-party AI provider, Google (the Gemini API). We send only what the estimate needs; we do not attach your name, email, or account identifiers, and we do not sell this content or use it for advertising. Google processes it under the Gemini API terms to return the result to you, on a paid API tier under which your submitted content is not used to train Google's models.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share data only with service providers that help us run the app, under contracts limiting their use of it:

Your data is stored on your device and, when you are signed in, in your private account on Supabase. Our providers, including Supabase and the AI services, may process data on servers in the United States. See Section 10 for international transfers.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (see Section 8) we delete your data from our systems. Data on your device is removed when you erase it or delete the app.
To exercise any right, use the in-app controls or email us.
The nutrition, weight, and health information in Mineral AI is sensitive. We process it to provide the app and only with your consent, which you give when you sign up and when you enable features such as photo analysis or Apple Health. You can withdraw consent at any time. Mineral AI is not a healthcare provider and is not covered by HIPAA.
If you use Mineral AI from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States by us and our providers. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Mineral AI is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We process your health data on the basis of your explicit consent. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and may complain to your supervisory authority.
We do not sell or "share" (for cross-context advertising) your personal information. California residents may request access to and deletion of their information.
The nutrition, weight, and health information in Mineral AI is "consumer health data" under the Washington My Health My Data Act and similar laws. We collect it only with your consent and disclose it only to the service providers described above.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notice in the app.
